We hire deliberately,
and rarely.

Halverson Reed grows by addition, not by accumulation. We are interested in hearing from senior consultants and operators whose work would extend the firm's tradition rather than dilute it.

How we hire

Halverson Reed is small by intention. The firm’s economics are designed to support partner-led engagements, and the recruiting follows from that. We hire principally at the partner, principal, and senior-engagement-manager levels, and we hire only when we can offer the new colleague the kind of work the firm exists to do.

We do not run a graduate program in the conventional sense. The two-year-out-of-MBA model that the larger consulting houses use would, in our judgment, dilute the firm’s discipline. We recruit junior colleagues selectively and only into roles where the bench supports the kind of mentorship the work requires.

The work, when we hire, is the work the firm is known for: partner-led engagements with mid-market leadership teams on the decisions that define the next chapter of the business. The expectation is high seniority, sustained client relationships, and the willingness to write — both for clients and for the firm’s Perspectives.

Where we are hiring

  • Chicago

    Senior Engagement Manager — Strategy & Growth

    Six to ten years of strategy consulting or corporate-development experience; comfort working alongside owners and executive teams in privately held mid-market businesses.

  • Chicago or Cleveland

    Principal — Operations & Performance

    A mid-career operator with consulting fluency, or a senior consultant with material operating tenure. Manufacturing or industrial-distribution background preferred.

  • Chicago

    Engagement Manager — Digital & Technology

    Five to eight years across technology consulting and operating roles; particular interest in candidates who have led an ERP or platform program inside a mid-market company.
